Be sure to stop by the Darke County Welcome Center (next to the KitchenAid Experience) to see 10 beautiful paintings of Darke County gems, including Maid-Rite, the circle, the Annie Oakley statue, Memorial Hall, the courthouse, Garst Museum, the Great Darke County Fair, the Palace building on Broadway, Bear's Mill, and the Swinging Bridge! The Welcome Center is open from 10-5 on Monday-Friday, as well as during next month's First Friday event, the Artisan Stroll, which takes place on August 7th from 6-9 pm! During the Artisan Stroll, the Welcome Center will be selling postcards created from the paintings. Donations will also be accepted, with the goal of turning these beautiful paintings into banners to hang downtown!

The artwork was painted by the following 2015 Senior Art students from Greenville High School: Haley Barton, Alyssa Baumgardner, Bree Beisner, Anne Bradfield, Cory Campbell, Chelsea Hawes, Alison Helfrich, Morgan Kiser, Zoe Stiefel, and Olivia Wysong.

The Darke County Welcome Center is Geometry Dash highlighting local pride and creativity by showcasing paintings of iconic county landmarks, inviting both residents and visitors to explore Darke County’s heritage. With extended hours during the First Friday Artisan Stroll, the event not only promotes art and tourism but also encourages community support through postcard sales and donations, all aimed at transforming these artworks into permanent downtown banners that celebrate the county’s identity.
