First Friday - Artisan Stroll Fun!

IMG_5609.JPG

On Friday night, we held our October First Friday event, the Artisan Stroll. The unpredictable weather required a quick change in plans, which included moving the artisans into the Elks and canceling some of the outdoor demonstrations. This was not an easy decision and one that our committee did not want to make, but felt it was the best decision for the artisans who were joining us for the event (some traveling from the Dayton area and beyond). We are very happy and pleasantly surprised with the 500-600 people who attended the event, even with the location change, in addition to those who decided to shop and dine downtown or visit the other indoor activities that were taking place downtown! Our Artisan Stroll Committee started planning this event in June and they worked so hard to create a night filled with fun activities. No matter what decision they had to make, I am so very proud of them. They are an awesome group of volunteers who are dedicated to creating an event for all to enjoy. Susan Fowble, Kim Murray, Mary Saintignon, Fran Brubaker, Debbie Niekamp, Patti Jetter, Peggy J Jasenski, and Nancy Person - THANK YOU. You are all rock stars, I want to clone you, and through working on this committee together I am now proud to call all of you friends. I can't wait to work with you for the event in 2015!

Thank you to all of the artisans and crafters who joined us for our event! What a great group of people and a nice mix of quality items! We are always amazed by the amount of local talent we have and we are so glad to have this event to help showcase that. We hope you enjoyed the evening and we hope you will all join us again next year! Thank you to our continued sponsors - Jafe Decorating, Inc. and our local AAA. First Fridays exist because of support from wonderful businesses like yours. We not only appreciate your financial support, but also for being a part of the event. Thank you to the Elks for allowing us to use your banquet room. Having a plan B always helps eliminate some of the stress when dealing with bad weather. Your space worked great and we were so thankful to be able to use it. Thank you to all of the businesses who stayed open late and to all who offered something fun during the evening! Thank you to all of the Main Street Greenville Board Members and Volunteers who helped throughout the evening, I appreciate each and every one of you! Last but not least, thank you to everyone who has made First Friday a night they look forward to! I love when people approach me throughout the month and ask me what our next First Friday event will be. People look forward to them and they are excited about them. Such an awesome thing. Many thanks to all of you! For 2015, we are looking to move the Artisan Stroll into the summer months. This is such a great event and we feel a date change is a good idea. We will keep everyone posted. Our November First Friday event is the Chocolate Walk. This popular event is a ticketed event and serves as a fundraiser for our non-profit organization. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at Readmore's Hallmark. The event will take place on Friday, November 7th from 6-9 pm. We hope you can join us!
