The Hometown Holiday Horse Parade - Voted BEST Parade in Ohio!

We are thrilled to announce that the evening of our parade, we were notified by Ohio Magazine that we have been voted the BEST Parade in Ohio by their readers! The best news? We weren't the only Darke County event / business to win! Small Business Saturday!

Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after U.S. Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed in 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local. This year, Small Business Saturday falls on Saturday, November 29th. First Friday: A Christmas Night

Don’t miss the last First Friday event of 2014! Main Street Greenville invites you to December's First Friday Event – A Christmas Night, scheduled for the evening of Friday, December 5th. Sponsored by GTI (Greenville Technology, Inc.), this event will feature many fun activities in the downtown district for children of all ages to enjoy! “We hope many families will join us during December’s First Friday,” said Amber Garrett, Executive Director for Main Street Greenville. “Downtown has such a gorgeous ambiance. Commemorative 2014 Horse Parade Bells Available!

Each year, we have commemorative brass bells engraved for all of our horse parade entries. We have a few extras available for purchase! We will also have a few bells from 2013 available (in case you missed getting one last year). Bells are $8.00 each and will be available for purchase at our merchandise table set-up in the gazebo in front of the courthouse. #events

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The 2014 Hometown Holiday Horse Parade returns on Saturday, November 22 at 7 pm in downtown Greenville! This annual tradition in Darke County has kicked off the holiday season for the downtown district the past 11 years! The 2014 Grand Marshal will be Jenny Clark, the visionary who helped to create the event in 2004. Main Street Greenville and the Hometown Holiday Horse Parade Committee have named Jenny Clark as the 2014 Hometown Holiday Horse Parade Grand Marshal. When selecting the Grand Marshal for 2014, Jenny was the perfect choice. “Jenny was the visionary who created this event. Without her, we would not have this tradition in our community today.
